How Venturenomix uses the Pragma Holis framework to structure career development.
Building a sustainable future requires more than just winning clients. It demands a deliberate strategy for attracting, developing, and retaining the specialist talent that defines the business. How do you create a structure that shows new hires a clear path to success from day one?

Building a Foundation of Talent
As a forward-thinking grant funding consultancy, Venturenomix understood its long-term success depended on its people. While their existing team was strong, they lacked a formal structure for professional development. This meant that career progression was often undefined, and there was no consistent framework for onboarding and training new hires.
As the company grew, there was a clear need to move beyond an informal approach and proactively build a transparent, scalable career development programme. The core objective was to create a foundational structure that would not only attract top talent but also provide every team member with a clear and compelling vision for their future within the company.
Determined not to start from scratch, the team turned to the Pragma Holis Framework as a starting point for this exercise. The ready-made PragmaPulse assessment turned out to be the perfect tool to kick-start the entire project, providing a holistic overview of the current business.

The structure and level of detail maps ideally onto our business and provides a ready-made framework to develop our training programme.

A Framework for Career Development
To build this foundation, Venturenomix deployed the PragmaPulse® diagnostic tool to create a 360-degree view of the entire organisation. The goal was to establish a data-driven baseline of their internal strengths and weaknesses. The “Excellence Heat Map” immediately highlighted a key opportunity: to formalise their processes within the Operations and People pillar.
Using these insights, Venturenomix built a comprehensive career development programme structured around the Six Pillar framework. They mapped specific skills and competencies within each pillar to every role in the company.
This created a “Pragmatic Prioritisation” plan not just for the business, but for every individual, giving each team member a clear and actionable roadmap for their professional growth. It also led to the creation of a brand new role in the business.
One of the most powerful outcomes for Venturenomix was the ability to directly connect individual performance to the company’s strategic objectives. The framework provided a shared language for success that transcends job titles and departments.
Instead of being an abstract concept, the company’s strategy became a practical tool for career conversations. The Founders could now sit with new and existing team members, review the company’s overall “Excellence Heat Map,” and clearly illustrate how their personal development goals would contribute to strengthening the business as a whole. This gave employees a powerful sense of purpose and a clear understanding of how their growth was integral to the company’s success.

The report from PragmaPulse (which only took me 15 minutes to complete online) has just saved me days of my time designing a business management trainee programme for my company.
